Arts, Culture and Sustainability: Building Synergies between Asia and Europe (6-7 December, Copenhagen)
ASEF has brought together the 18 cultural leaders from Asia and Europe in Copenhagen on 6 and 7 December 2009 to dialogue with each other on their personal and institutional visions for the cultural sector's engagement with environmental sustainability. This vision group workshop will contribute to a Discussion Paper on the subject (to be published in electronic format in 2010). The Discussion Paper will be widely disseminated among stakeholders and policy makers and will eventually lead to policy inputs and a conference in preparation for the 8th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit of Heads of State and Government (Belgium, October 2010).
At the same time ASEF has invited 5 virtual contributors to be part of the reflection from a distance.
The Asia-Europe Foundation joined as a partner in the Culture|Futures and is actively engaging with the invited cultural leaders in the symposium and worksgroups.
The Asia-Europe Foundation is creating a wider circles of engagement through its virtual platform – http://connect2culture.blogs.culture360.org
