What is your website / blog / favourite website?
http://www.bloftus.co.uk
A second website?
http://www.stopclimatechaosni.org
Are you involved in creating artistic work or cultural productions that engages with ecological or sustainability concerns?
yes
What do you think of the role of culture in climate change / moving towards an ecological age?
I think it has a dual role. It needs to deal within its own practice with the issues to do with climate change/moving towards an ecological age. It also can raise awareness of these issues.
Who are your favourite artists/ filmmakers / other cultural 'actors'. Add links if possible
In this context, David Buckland (www.capefarewell.com), Kathy Barber, Julie's Bicycle (www.juliesbicycle.com), Madeleine Bunting, Chrysalis Arts, Alastair Herron, Anna Macleod (www.annamacleod.com),Christine Mackey (www.christinemackey.com), Cathy Fitzgerald
(www.ecoartnotebook.com),Nicholas Keogh & Patrick Bloomer (www.recirca.com/reviews/2005/Venice/v.shtml),Wonderland Project (www.wonderland-sheffield.co.uk/education/wl_belfast.html), Catherine Devitt (www.blackberrypicker.wordpress.com), Kathy Herbert (www.kathyherbert.ie), Nevan Lahart, Doris Rohr, Katie Holten, Barrie Cooke, Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin (www.sciencegallery.com), Andrei Tarkovsky
What is your biggest concern re. climate change?
That politicians will not act soon enough to enable the steps that will avert irreversible catastrophe.
What is your biggest inspiration re. climate change?
My children and grandchildren and the need for them and all the other children and grandchildren to have a world in which they can live sustainably and well.
What do you think you can do to help prevent / minimise climate change?
Stimulate action in the visual arts sector in Ireland by my research and work with others to increase awareness, deliver useful actions and lobby to produce useful actions by others, particularly politicians and the business sector.

No room up above for a third website, so I am going to mention here www.stopclimatechaos.ie. Stop Climate Chaos is trying to get climate acts passed for Northern Ireland and the Republic. You can support these campaigns via their websites. For those in Northern Ireland, Niall Bakewell at Friends of the Earth in Belfast (niall.bakewell@foe.co.uk) is the coordinator for involvement in street collection of signatures for a petition for a climate act and lobbying of politicians for the same.
